Born in Kansas City, USA, Sascha Cohn studied Jazz Vocals at the University of Music in Cologne (Diplom = MA equivalent). She earned a diploma in Jazz and Pop Choir Conducting [KB1] at the National Academy of Cultural Education in Wolfenbüttel, and is an authorized „Complete Vocal Technique" (CVT) instructor, having graduated from the 3 year training program at the Complete Vocal Institute in Copenhagen. She has completed a variety of further training courses in areas ranging from vocal and improvisation technique, to jazz and pop choir conducting, vocal arranging and vocal coaching.
Sascha Cohn is a free-lance singer (performing in the genres of Jazz/Pop/Soul with her own projects, as a background singer for renowned artists, as a former member of the National Jazz Orchestra's vocal ensemble under the direction of Peter Herbolzheimer, etc.) and works as a vocal coach, singing instructor, adjudicator and choral director. She offers workshops and master classes in "Complete Vocal Technique" (CVT) as well as coaching sessions for both ensembles and choirs.
In September 2009, she took over direction of the Bonner Jazzchor. Since 2010, she has taught at numerous music academies, in particular in her role as instructor of Popular Vocals, Ensemble and Pop Choir Conducting at the Institute of Music in Osnabrück, and at the National Academy of Cultural Education in Wolfenbüttel as instructor in the "Jazz and Pop Choir Conducting Level B" program.
